Our new campaign for Engineers Ireland just launched today. It’s a small but perfectly formed recruitment campaign for the 175 year old professional body that represents engineers in Ireland. Our insight was that great engineers love solving problems. And so we had one of those light bulb (or engineer) moments. We decided to place our ads next to the Sudoku and Crossword sections in The Irish Times. It is a great example of what can be done on a small budget when you focus.

Check out our new campaign for Radio Nova 100FM – Dublin’s newest radio station. The station goes on air today. Our campaign breaks this week. For those who like to rock then Radio Nova 100Fm is the station for you. It’s playlist will feature AC/DC, Guns n’ Roses, Led Zepplin and Pink Floyd to name but a few.

Our campaign runs on TV and on outdoor in the Dublin area (apologies to our readers in the rest of the world but Radio Nova 100FM only broadcasts in the Dublin region but you can tune in online at www.nova.ie )

The 15 second television ad was directed by Luke Franklin and produced by Fiona Kinsella at Jumper Production.

The outdoor posters communicate the type of music you will hear when you tune into Radio Nova. Each execution is based on famous band logo. There is a big prize sitting here on my desk in bloom central for the first reader who can show their true rocker colours and identify the original bands.

NNI Press Ad of the Month

Good news. We just heard that we won NNI Press ad of the month for the month of March 2010 with our Fujifilm 1000 words campaign. We are, of course, delighted. So what is the “NNI Press ad of the month” when its at home, I hear you ask. Well”NNI” stands for “National Newspapers of Ireland” . They are an industry body that represent all the main newspaper titles in Ireland. Check them out here . Earlier this year they launched the “NNI Press Ad of the month” competition to reward great Irish press advertising. At the end of the year they want the public to decide the “NNI Press ad of the year” by voting for one of the “Press ads of the month” You can see all the winners here. You can also see one of the ads announcing the March 2010 winner all this week in the NNI titles.

Apple Drops

Our TV ad for Sqeez Pure Apple Juice is on TV again. Like the ad for Orange, it shows the natural juiciness of Sqeez in all its glory. It’s certainly got saliva glands working overtime at Bloom Towers.

PS: We had nothing to do with an outdoor poster for a certain Danish lager that appears to be inspired by the Sqeez ads – though we are very flattered!

You are, it goes without saying, an exceptionally talented person.

You are great at concepts.

You love designing and laying out 48 sheet posters, press ads, online display and brochures.

You have loads of TV experience and know how to direct a photo shoot.

You know your way around all of the top Mac packages ( CS, Indesign and Photoshop, etc) and are handy at doing a few scamps.

Your current Creative Director doesn’t recognise your talents.

We all know the best things in life are unplanned – our best memories are usually of the times when we acted with spontaneity, when we broke convention and surprised ourselves. lastminute.com embodies this sense of adventure, the brand encourages us to stop over thinking and just “Go for it!”

We developed a visual style that symbolises this sense of escape and created a tactical press and online campiagn for 5 city destinations with hotel and city break offers. For the press ads we opted for two small size ads on the bottom right hand side of adjacent pages to suggest movement.

So now you can “go for it” for less!

Hello Night

This is our new TV spot for West Coast Cooler. We shot it recently in Cape Town, South Africa. Just before the World Cup kick off. It was directed by Richard Chaney of the Pool.

The music is a track called “Fixin’ to thrill” by Dragonette.

This is our fourth TV ad for West Coast Cooler in five years. We’re kinda proud of it.
